R.I. P. Ray Bradbury (August 22, 1920 – June 5, 2012)

Despite not being directly related to Doctor Who, his prolific sci-fi writings have had an undeniable effect on generations of people, including DW writer Neil Gaiman, and their expectations and imaginations when it came to science fiction.

Not many people believe in the power of words quite like Mr. Bradbury, on how they can inspire love, pain, and courage. How words can impart knowledge, strength, and power. This is something our own dear Doctor believes.

To finish, here’s something that we know Mr. Bradbury would have been so proud of:

“You want weapons? We’re in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world! This room’s the greatest arsenal we could have - arm yourselves!”
